For those with varied schedules or simply desiring private instruction tailored to each student, we offer private instruction by appointment, 6 days a week, at any level, your boat or ours.

RESERVATION DEPOSIT

A deposit of 50% of each course fee is required to reserve class space and dates.  The balance of the course fee is due on the scheduled date.  Sailing lessons are scheduled on a rotating basis and times must be reserved for space in each desired class.  Each group lesson is limited to a minimum of three students.  All onboard sailing instruction takes place on the Puget Sound on keel type sailboats over 18' in length.  The boat may very in size from lesson to lesson. 
Cancellation of a scheduled Lesson must he made at least five (5) days prior to the actual lesson date. Failure to notify GHSC of a cancellation will result in a rescheduling charge of $45. Registrant/Student understands that this rescheduling charge stems from the high cost of boats and instructors to GHSC for "no shows". Registrant/Student cooperation in this regard is appreciated. Departure times allow no leeway for late arrivals. Wind, rain, and cold are unpredictable elements.  Students must be prepared for various types of weather.  However, GHSC sailboats do not sail when conditions are not conducive to the level of instruction being given or when safety is at risk (e.g.. gale warnings, limited visibility).  GHSC has the right to cancel a sailing lesson should GHSC deem weather conditions unacceptable or should there be less than the minimum number of students. Registrant/Student shall contact GHSC prior to lesson to establish whether or not weather conditions allow the scheduled lesson to take place.  All classes are considered "on" unless canceled by GHSC.

SAILING SCHOOL GUARANTEE

All sailing school classes through Bareboat Cruising are GUARANTEED.  If required you may repeat the class or attend review classes for FREE until you successfully pass!  Students must participate in all lectures and classes and complete required reading in order to validate guarantee.  All regular classes must be completed in 90 days of start of BK1 class.  Review or repeat classes must be scheduled within 2 months of final course.

WAIVER OF LIABILITY

As agreed by signature herein given, Registrant/Student in this sailing course affirms that they will assume responsibility for their physical fitness and capability to perform under the conditions of a boating and sailing program.  Registrant/Student also understands and agrees that neither this program of instruction and sailing, nor its’ owners or instructor, including but not limited to Gig Harbor Sailing Club & School, LLC and unnamed assistants, may be held liable in any way for any occurrence in connection with this program which may result in injury, death, or other damages to Registrants/Students’ family, heirs, or assigns.  Registrant/Student hereby agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Gig Harbor Sailing Club & School, LLC and the owner of the vessel utilized in this program from any and all losses, damages or other expenses, including attorney fees arising and any claims, demands, penalties or other losses resulting from the sailing course provided by Gig Harbor Sailing Club & School, LLC (GHSC).  In consideration of Registrant/Student being permitted to enroll in this program of instruction and sailing, Registrant/Student hereby assumes all risk connected therewith, whether foreseen or unforeseen. Registrant/Student hereby agrees the Registrant/Student’s sole remedy against GHSC shall consist of all amounts paid by Registrant/Student to GHSC for this specific course.  In no event shall GHSC, its’ officers, agents, employees, or independent contractors be liable to Registrant/Student for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages.
